Detailed Itinerary of Badimalika Trek

Day 1: Flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi, Drive to Dadheldhura

You’ll take a flight to Dhangadhi after breakfast. You can get to Dadeldhura from Dhangadhi by driving across the Godavari for around four hours. Dadeldhura is renowned for its distinctive customs and culture. The most popular tourist destinations in Dadeldhura include the well-known Ugratara Temple, historical sites including Amargadhi Fort, and Alital.

Day 2: Drive to Jadanga

You’ll start the journey to Sanfe of Achham. Sanfe will be reached in around 4 hours. From Sanfe, two highways lead to the district offices of Achham, Mangalsen and Martdai of Bajura, respectively. Take the first road that runs parallel to the Budhi Gandaki River. From Sanfe, a three-hour trip will get you to Jadanga.

Day 3: Trek to Budha Krodh

You will begin your trek toward Budha Krodh today. You will go through a stunning landscape and ascend a hill before reaching the trail’s last village. Budha Krodh is a stunning location with lovely scenery, waterfalls, lush forests, and gurgling streams . Beyond this location, you will find only buffalo sheds and herders, no particular settlements.

Day 4: Trek to Bhito

You’ll continuing your trek through the forest. The trail ascends, rising to a height of 3,800 meters. The trail continues on from here across expansive grasslands that are accented by colorful flowers. You can reach Bhito after lunch by walking for around three hours. You will have to stay in a tented camp at Bhito.

Day 5: Trek to Triveni

You continue on with your trek and on the route, you can view expansive meadows, waterfalls, and gurgling streams. You finally arrive in Triveni after a four to five hour walk. There is a lot of religious significance in Triveni. Around 1,500 tents are crammed into this tiny space during significant events like Janai Purnima. Early in the morning, people walk to the Badimalika temple after taking sacramental baths in the adjacent rivers.

Day 6: Trek to Badimalika

There are no tea shops in the area, so you’ll need to carry a packed lunch. Lovely plants and wildflowers surround the path leading to Badimalika. Along the way, visitors can pay their respects to Lord Ganesh at the Lodibinayak temple. The area offers breathtaking views of the Triveni River and the Badimalika Temple down below.

Day 7: Trek Down to Dhawalpur Lake

Get up early to see the Api and Saipal mountains sparkling in the dawn light. After taking in the breathtaking morning views, you will begin descending toward “Dhawalpur Lake” after lunch. A stunning lake, Dhawalpur Lake is situated in the middle of a large forest. The 500 square meter lake is located at a height of 2556 meters.

Day 8: Trek to Lamagadh

Lamagadh is located at an elevation of 2,195 meters above sea level and offers spectacular views over the Bajura region. The district headquarters of Bajura is Silgadhi. The primary attraction here is the Shaileshwori Temple, which is devoted to Shiva and Parvati. From Dhawalpur Lake, you can trek for around three hours to reach the Natyashwori temple. The Natyashwori temple is considered to be the next destination after visiting Badimalika. From Natyashwori, it takes around 30 minutes to walk to Lamagadh, our final stop for the day. From Lamagadh, one may see stunning views of many Bajura features.

Day 9: Trek to Silgadhi

You’ll start your journey to Mourya from Lamagadh. You can see where the Malagadh and Budhiganga rivers meet on the way. Because of the area’s stunning natural surroundings, tourists frequently stop through. We move in the direction of Silgadhi, the Doti district headquarters. Travelers must go to the well-known Shaileshwari Temple, which is highly respected by Hindus, while in Silgadhi.

Day 10: Drive to Dhangadhi

You will leave Silgadhi after breakfast and travel to Dadeldhura for lunch before spending the night in Dhangadhi. 

Day 11: Fly back to Kathmandu
