Detailed Itinerary of Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)
Day 1 – Fly to Pokhara
To get to Pokhara on the first day, you board an early bus or a flight. Travel time by air will be between 30 and 40 minutes, and by road should take 6-7 hours.
You then travel a short distance through the beautiful surroundings from Pokhara to Ghandruk, a delightful Gurung village at the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). It is a somewhat tranquil route that passes through Nayapul.
Day 2 – Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong
On the second day, you will start your trek. You can enjoy views of the Annapurna, Machhapuchre (Fishtail), and Hiunchuli snow peaks from the trail. As we stroll through the rhododendron forest, numerous springs and rivers may be seen. The route next takes us to Jhinu Danda, where beautiful views of the valley and a gorge where the Modi Khola river flows. It will take you around three hours to walk from Jhinu Danda, where you will have lunch, to Chhomrong, your final destination for the day.
Day 3 – Trek from Chhomrong to Himalaya
You’ll be walking along a path with a succession of ascents and descents on stone stairs as the Fishtail (Machapuchare) mountain’s summit plays hide and seek in the background. You will continue hiking toward Bamboo for lunch after passing Sinuwa. Then we go to the town of Dovan, on the upper side of a deep valley, which has been successfully converted into a tiny hydropower plant. Khuldigar village is passed before the route descends to Bamboo Lodge villages and ascends once more to the Himalaya.
Day 4 – Trek from Himalaya to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)
You will continue to walk the countless stone steps. The treeline ends further out from Deurali at a glacier on the trail, and from there, you continue a steady ascent to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. You have a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding mountains from Machhapuchhre Base Camp. However, you will have to keep heading northwest till you reach ABC.
You can see Hiunchuli, Annapurna South and Annapurna I (8,097m/26,566ft), Khangsar Kang, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, and Machhapuchhare from ABC.
Day 5 – Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo
It’s time to descend now that you’ve cemented your mark on ABC. You will choose a route that leads us outside the Modi River Valley and the Annapurna Sanctuary. You will eventually arrive in Bamboo, a tranquil rest stop that will serve as our final halt for the day.
Day 6 – Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda to Nayapul
You keep moving in the direction of Jhinu Danda. To go to Jhinu Danda, we first take a path that descends to Kimrong Khola and then climb through the peaceful rhododendron, Bamboo, and oak forests.
As you depart Jhinu Danda, you turn into an easy dirt road that runs alongside Modi Khola. The stroll along this route is the most leisurely of the entire journey. You will hike for around three hours before arriving at Siwa/Ghandruk Phedi, where you will say farewell to the trails and begin the scenic trip to Pokhara.
Day 7 – Drive to Pokhara
We leave Pokhara early in the morning so that you can rest your tired legs and recover in the lovely city after a week of vigorous walking. Pokhara is a stunning valley surrounded by the mountains Annapurna, Machapuchare, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Lamjung Himal. It is famed for its many lakes, notably Phewa and Begnas.
Pokhara is a tourist haven with all of today’s luxuries available. We urge you to tour Pokhara so that you can encounter other cultures and go to a variety of tourist hotspots.
